How We Met the Challenge
As a dominant part of the home page, we introduced the designer, Jenn, alongside
one of her magnificent creations. This gives the site a human touch and brings
visitors into the presentation of the wreaths as works of art created by
her.
We kept the color scheme of the site and the basic look
calming and cohesive with the greenery in the wreaths themselves. We also
built a full-featured customer service section with pages about the designer
and about custom wreaths. To help the site market itself, we included marketing
tools such as Send-a Friend links on every page.
We used custom RTML to produce a store with all the
bells and whistles that keep search engines happy, ensuring healthy traffic
flow without the need for an equally healthy ad budget.

The Challenge
This is really a one-product store--selling stunning, custom-designed wreaths.
Our job was to build the showcase for these wreaths without getting in the
way of their beauty.
We also wanted to avoid a look where the whole site is
nothing but page after page of various wreaths. This site needed to provide
enough structure and cohesion to the products to keep reading fun and
interesting. It needed to be sticky.
Search engine optimization was also a major mandate.
The site owner had been selling her wares via eBay and various arts and crafts
shows. She had no brick-and-mortar presence or advertising budget to drive
visitors to her new Internet presence. |
